  Today, I visited Doreen’s home once again, this time carrying a food package for her family. Standing with her mother as she received the food reminded me why this mission matters so much—why we continue to stand with vulnerable children and families who have been quietly suffering without help or support. Doreen is a 10-year-old girl from Nankoma Sub-county, Bugiri District, battling a serious kidney-related condition that has caused her stomach to swell and affected her growth for the last two years. Her mother, a single parent, has struggled to provide even the basics—food, good bedding, and proper medical care. Their living conditions speak of a family doing their best with almost nothing. The little support we delivered today—corn flour, millet and soya mix, sugar, juice, soap, and other essentials—brought visible relief to the mother.
