Kiseitaka Children’s Foundation Uganda | Urgent Medical Support for 10-Year-Old Doreen – Let’s Save Her Life Together
My name is Musobya Azari, founder of Kiseitaka Children’s Foundation Uganda, a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Eastern Uganda. Our foundation works in rural communities where poverty, hunger, and lack of medical care put many children at risk. We provide emergency support, education, basic needs, and hope to children who have no one else to stand for them.
Today, I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of a young girl whose life is in serious danger—10-year-old Doreen from Nankoma Sub-County, Bugiri District (Eastern Uganda).
Who is Doreen?
Doreen is a bright and kind little girl living with her single mother and three siblings. Her father passed away, leaving the family in deep poverty. Her mother tries her best, but she cannot afford food, medical care, or even proper bedding for her children. Most days, they survive on very little.
For the past two years, Doreen has been suffering from:
- A severely swollen stomach
- Kidney complications
- Slow growth
- Extreme pain and weakness
- Difficulty eating and sleeping
Her condition has worsened over time, and doctors have said she urgently needs specialized medical attention, tests, treatment, and consistent nutrition support.
The Situation at Home
When we first visited Doreen’s home, the reality was heartbreaking.
She was sleeping on a thin mattress laid directly on the floor, with:
- No blanket
- No bedsheet
- No mosquito net
- No proper food at home
The family has no stable income, and even basic meals are hard to find. Her mother cried as she explained how she has tried everything but cannot save her daughter alone.
As Kiseitaka Children’s Foundation Uganda, we have stepped in with food, medical check-ups, and emotional support—but the care Doreen needs right now is far beyond our foundation’s current resources.
Why We Need Your Help
Doreen needs:
- Full medical diagnosis (ultrasound, scans, blood tests)
- Treatment for her kidney and stomach swelling
- Transport to medical facilities
- Medication
- Nutritional support (milk, sugar, maize flour, supplements)
- A proper sleeping setup (mattress, sheet, mosquito net)
We cannot do this without the kindness of people who feel touched by her story.
Her condition is urgent and life-threatening. Every day that passes without treatment puts her at even greater risk.
