Kiseitaka children's foundation uganda | Doreen's life saving journey

Doreen is a brave 10-year-old girl from a very गरीब and vulnerable family in rural Uganda. Her life took a painful turn when she developed a serious medical condition—a liver tumor that caused severe swelling of her abdomen due to fluid buildup (ascites). This condition has made even the simplest activities, like walking, extremely painful and difficult for her.

Before getting help, Doreen’s situation was critical. Her family could not afford medical care, proper nutrition, or even basic daily needs. With no stable support system, her condition continued to worsen, putting her life at serious risk.

That’s when Kiseitaka Children’s Foundation Uganda stepped in. As a community-based organization dedicated to helping vulnerable children, the foundation took responsibility for supporting Doreen’s medical journey and her family’s survival needs.

Through the generosity of donors, well-wishers, and supporters from around the world, a fundraising campaign was launched with a goal of $4,000 to cover her treatment and related expenses. Step by step, contributions began to come in, giving hope where there was once despair.

Doreen began receiving medical treatment, including a series of prescribed doses aimed at stabilizing her condition. By April 2026, she had successfully received her fourth and final dose of medication. Doctors indicated that after two weeks, her response to the treatment would determine whether she could undergo a life-saving operation.

Throughout this journey, the foundation has not only focused on her medical care but also supported her family with basic necessities such as food items, soap, sugar, and salt—ensuring they could at least live with some dignity during this difficult time.

Doreen’s story has touched many hearts. People from different countries, churches, and communities have come together in prayer, financial support, and encouragement. Each contribution, no matter how small, has played a role in bringing her closer to recovery.

Despite the pain she endures, Doreen remains strong and hopeful. Her courage is a powerful reminder of why this mission matters—not just to save one life, but to restore hope to families and communities facing extreme hardship.

Her journey is not yet over. The next phase depends on her body’s response to treatment and the possibility of surgery. Continued support is essential to ensure she receives the care she needs and the chance to live a healthy, happy life like any other child.

Doreen’s story is more than a medical case—it is a call to compassion, unity, and action.
